Good evening parents, as you are aware a false threat was reported to Hidalgo ISD yesterday evening regarding a school shooting at Hidalgo Early College High School. It has come to the districts’ attention that an image circulating on social media is adding to the rumors of the false threat. The superintendent of schools along with the Hidalgo Police Department has fully investigated the situation regarding the image and the social media post and the appropriate action will be taken by law enforcement as well as Hidalgo ISD to ensure student and staff safety. As a reminder, the threats that were reported were false and a list of targeted students was not made. Parents, please inform your child that all reports made to law enforcement officials are taken seriously, and making a fake threat of violence is a criminal act. Hidalgo ISD has a zero-tolerance policy on false threats and will not hesitate to act and inform the police department. Your child's safety is of the utmost importance to our district. Buenas noches padres, como se informó anteriormente, ayer por la noche se reportó una amenaza falsa a Hidalgo ISD con respecto a un tiroteo en la escuela preparatoria Hidalgo Early College. Ha llamado la atención del distrito que una imagen que circula en las redes sociales está aumentando los rumores de la falsa amenaza. El superintendente de escuelas junto con el Departamento de Policía de Hidalgo ha investigado la situación con respecto a la imagen y la publicación en las redes sociales. La policía y el distrito tomarán las medidas apropiadas para garantizar la seguridad de los estudiantes y el personal. Como recordatorio, las amenazas que se denunciaron eran falsas y no se elaboró una lista de los estudiantes atacados. Padres, informen a sus hijos que todas las denuncias hechas a la policía se toman en serio y que hacer una amenaza falsa de violencia es un acto delictivo. El distrito escolar de Hidalgo tiene una política de tolerancia cero ante amenazas falsas y no dudará en actuar e informar al departamento de policía.
