CONGRATULATIONS to the Mighty Pirate Marching Band for advancing to State!
Despite Covid 19, this year the HECHS Marching Band came back stronger and more determined to reach their ultimate goal, taking on one competition at a time.
After a long year of not stepping foot on the field, these students came back with much drive and determination to make it known what HECHS was capable of doing.They demonstrated that their comeback is stronger than their setback! As the Pirate Marching Band sailed through every competition, a mixed of emotions were felt. "It felt very nostalgic to hear the crowd clapping and cheering us on...it was very nerve-wracking, but we came to win!" Jose Escalante, a Junior at HECHS proudly said.
Evidently, the students endured every challenge that came their way, but continued to press forward. Diego Esperanza, a senior at HECHS reminds us that the Pirate Marching Band "can really endure a handful of challenges despite the pandemic. We've never had such a big group of students come together, and find a way to sound like the Hidalgo Band was once. We all have pushed through the year, and hopefully we can continue to win, and progress as one."
Teamwork, dedication, and hard work has been key for our fierce band this year.
The Mighty Pirate Marching Band is sailing straight to State on Wednesday, November 10, 2021.
